With the launch of our company, The Home Edit, I have a feeling many people will assume we are interior designers. But interior design and home organizing are two different worlds - so I thought I would use our inaugural blog post to set the record straight!
For the past 10 years or so, people have often suggested I go into interior design. I never corrected anyone that said I should be a designer, but I knew they were really just trying to say I'm good at putting rooms together. That I know where things should be placed, and how to optimize my shelves, closets, drawers, and table tops.
But perfecting a space isn't the same thing as designing a space. Thank goodness there are very talented people who source fabrics and tile and hardwood, and pick out everything from drapery to furniture to doors... because that is just not our arena!
Our specialties include bins, baskets, and drawer dividers. And we are deeply passionate about labeling, categorizing, and color-coding. I know, I know....but we were born this way! We actually think it's FUN to clean out closets. So we hope you enjoy following along while we share pictures, tips, and tricks as we go!
